Dreams - Fact or Fiction?

Feet tucked closely together, time ticked second by second. a thin wisp of air surround the room like it's meant to linger while you take short glimpses onto the screen, tightly gripping on your warm cup of unfinished tea. You wait for an outcome, a result, or anything, that could probably soothe your fast-paced heart from constantly beating oddly quick.

Trace back time to roughly about five years ago, huge buildings overlooked a teen who believed, maybe even strongly presume that dreams are a figment of a highly creative imagination, inspired by unrealistic books on dusty shelves. A teen who could only hope and pray that something goes well for her, for once. Don't get mistaken, events in her life have been going smoothly in unexpected ways but fear was a huge factor. Fear of the uncertainties in the midst of her mundane life. Sleepless nights, glazed eyes filled with tears that only starry nights are able to witness while she ponder on her unfathomable and rather bleak future. She wonder if she could ever make it, in years to come. Who could she blame, for not revealing the secrets of her future so she won't have to walk blindly into the dark abyss of the unknown. Living in a place or rather a country that highly boast and blatantly glamourizes high achievers individuals, didn't help her self-discovery journey even one bit. Slowly, she realizes that her dreams in life only belong in fictional 'New-York Bestseller' books with no space for the reality. However, that realization definitely did not stop her from continuously watching 'coming of age' movies that strongly filled her childhood. Essentially, those movies sparked her interest to start writing, journalism and many more. So, she carried on with her life, continued school, pursued anything that she has in her hands. From a small bakery hidden in the outskirts of town to an upscale clothing store and now, to the heart of the city. Those feet brought her to places she could never ever possibly imagined and she adored every minute of her life. Maybe, all she really need in life is hope, even if it's impossible and even if everyone around her showed her loudly how it's unattainable. Even if certain things don't work out, better opportunities are making its way towards her and if she never tried, if she never sent that life-changing text or email, she would missed out on outcomes that could be hers.

Finders keepers. When you chanced upon things that you love to do, it slowly turns into a dream, a lifelong goal for you to keep - like it's meant for you in the first place. Perhaps, there is beauty in slow, delayed moments in our life. Our patience was built to fulfill our heavy desires and passions and it made me wonder, who claim that we aren't mentally strong and why did we decided to listen to them like they knew our pain few years back. I was the young lost teen, each one of us was that young lost teen, possibly even more than just lost and misguided. So here I am, telling you to continuously dream big, persistently pushed yourself into big turmoil spaces and walk with bold hopes because you need all the strength you can possibly grasp once dreams turn into a reality.

Pain: Would souls rather have physical or emotional pain?

He glanced at his watch, the hands ticking by the minute, slowly irking him. The thin scratches on the watch glass screen, the small peelings on the brown leather watch handle never really bothered him, despite his friends aggravating urge to replace a new Patek Phillipe watch for him. He never knew why he was emotionally attached to the old dusty looking watch. The change of jazz music in the small bustling cafe awoken him from his distracted thoughts. Seated facing the window in the right inner corner of the cafe, he adjusted himself comfortably into the black plush cushioned seat while looking at the busy road ahead of him. He have always loved this corner of the cafe, not only due to the isolation from everyone, but also, the silence gave him ample time to focus on his untreated emotions and thoughts deep inside his mind. The laptop screen in front of him was left unattended while he waited for what is to come ahead. He could hear the deafening ticking sounds of his watch, th...

Hot Soup

You can’t expect somebody to understand your love for hot soups, when toasted loaves are all that they know. Layers of flavours hugged the curves of your spoon, filling up your devoted heart. Glossy eyes stare back at you while you devoured. Breaking the ends of your mind thinking of how to explain, your love for soup - or your love for them. You tugged the ends of your wool sweater sleeves, patiently waiting for. Something, anything.  You’re getting tired. It’s just food, what’s there to dispute, but it’s not just about food. It’s about waiting for them to understand you, keeping yourself naively optimistic about their emotions and you truly do feel like you’re hanging on a fine thread of blind hope.  When desperation creeps in slowly behind you, normal days changed into morning toast meals so you could talk to them more, hold their hand a little longer. Then heavy night comes, you talk to yourself over things you couldn’t talk to them.  You can’t expect somebody to unde...

A letter for the souls in pain

Isn't it strange how love works?  Walking from empty spaces to tall skyscrapers,  Tall skyscrapers to secret alleyways, Secret alleyways to empty spaces again.  We feel intensely, we act on our feelings leading to decisions that could make or break us. Honestly, who told us love was easy? Our hearts could never ever be fully ready to overcome the highs and lows of unknown roads and yet, here we are, ready to risk our hearts for people who were once strangers. The vulnerability people hold closely to themselves, kept hidden in tightly enclosed rooms, locked in the strings of their blood vessels, and yet, it get all loose, untied and full of holes when a person comes along. The intensity of an emotion no one could simply comprehend with words but somehow, simple phrases can easily tore hearts apart. There is no middle ground with love, no staying within the lines because in the end, we break our rules for souls. We tell ourselves, next time we will get stronger, brav...
